singing is of great importance. The chest should
be arched, then will we remain conscious of the indestructible vitality
gathered within us. The chest should not go up
and down: any movement should happen within, and in as far as necessary, be made
by the belly. Slowly we release the air from the lungs and we use up no
more from it than our vocal cords do need.
7. ... The chest should
remain high and the ribs should expand sideways, while we slowly
contract the body at the heighth of the navel, or more justly said: just
above the navel and just under the area of the stomach. As soon as this
will go some more easily, the position of the chest will become higher
and only then will the ribs spread out more. ...Inside

8. ... Forcing should
be avoided, that is harmful. We should move with the greatest
possible degree of relaxation, so not move one muscle more than is
absolutely necessary for an upright posture, an
arched chest and full breathing in
and out in connection with the vibration of the vocal cords. ...
9. Help with breathing may be found in the Mazdaznan
breathing-out exercise that stops physical disorders and in the
breathing-in exercise that removes mental fatigue. Both these exercises
improve and alleviate breathing, also in relation to singing. By doing
the other, rhythmical breathing exercises, and the harmony-exercises, by
a rightly chosen diet and by a fitting body care, we have been given the
means to sustain our evolution at all times, and experience the blessing
